    and it really depends on what you hope to acheive and your diet history. Please note that we are not medically qualified to provide dietary advice, but what we can say is that the usual recommendation is to do a full detox fast for no more than 3-5 days if it is your first time.

    If your body is more accustomed to fasting then its probably ok to stay on a couple more days.

    But if you are considering continuing beyond that we’d strongly advise you consult your healthcare professional.

    Penny S. Mann 😀 I was wondering on the taste, I have used apple cider vinegar before for heart burn and was harsh. I do use the ingredients separately in my diet, will stick with the yummy shake. If it doesn’t taste good I won’t eat or drink it. 🙂

    My liver does a great job at detoxing me. Thanks. If your body is full of toxins, you should be in the hospital. If your body is full of inflammation, quit eating garbage and start with eliminating dairy that is food for baby cows, not humans. More water is the only going to help most of you, because chronic dehydration is more likely causing you more issues than detoxing with acid.

    Elimination of meat from your diet helps with cholesterol to a point. Cutting back on added sugar works better unless you already have diabetes. Then you need daily monitoring and cutting all added sugar unless you are crashing.

    Tanye Lacombe, I temd to agree with you. The biggest issue is that people eat foods that assault our bodies, leading chronic inflammation and intolerances. Once we eliminate those issues, our bodies tend to heal themselves. If our organs need more help “detoxing”, you should hospitalize for metal poisoning or other issues. If you get out of your immune systems way, it tends to balance itself out in as little as 30 days. I am not sure what drinking vinegar will actually do to balance things or cleanse your kindeys, liver or whatever since your stomach and intestines do the work of pH balancing, processing proteins and absorbing nutrients. I’m curious how this is supposed to work when the body already does this. Most issues are intolerances to foods or chemicals. Remove those foods through experimentation or testing and the body is a miracle of its own. Any PhD or MD with their weight will tell you the same as me. Cleanses and Detoxes are a waste of money and predictory. If you want to drink it, it might not, but it certainly will not help, especially if you are fasting and eliminating nutrition that you do need.

    I just read the article/recipe again. It says “detox”, but does not offer what it will eliminate from the body. Cinnamon is an antioxidant rich spice. You will have to eat tons of it to gain anything substantial if you use it alone.

    Karl T Ponds – I buy mine at the local grocery stores – Ingles…Publix…Kroger – GNC also has it but usually a couple dollars more a bottle. Should be on the same grocery aisle as white vinegar!! 🙂

    I have been using this recipe + ginger for two years now ( my grandmother’s recipe) it has helped me with a number of issues. Arthritis, digestion problems, clearing up my skin, lowering my cholesterol. It has also helped me with sugar cravings that use to be seemingly uncontrollable. I refused to take all of the meds that my doctor prescribed. I am not a doctor and have no idea of the reason behind this recipe working but it did for me. By the way my grandmother is 82 and in perfect health. There are tuns of contaminates that we come in contact with on a daily basis. We eat them, breath them, put them on our skin. Maybe 100 years ago our liver and kidneys could do the job alone. I have a hard time believing that they can keep up now. Even if you don’t believe that it helps to detox, you should investigate all of the other health benefits of all of the ingredients.

    America has a high obesity rate, so most of these organs are not performing at its best and that includes a fatty or diseased liver,therefore this detox along with a healthier lifestyle would be life changing. It’s easy to tell people to eat healthier, don’t eat junk. But it’s fighting a wildfire with a garden hose. She is offering some good advice respect is key!

    Everybody’s body isn’t the same. I went to my Dr who knows my body. She told me to drink 1x daily and hour b4 meal… then drink plenty of water.
    She told me to gradually work myself up to 3x daily.

    I don’t listen to Dr’s that don’t know me because they know everyone body reacts differently to things…
    A lot of ppl can’t take it 3x a day…

    You can also just take 2 tablespoons of it straight but drink plenty of water. That’s the only way I was able to consume it for a while

    I don’t agree with the lightweight alcohol drinking. Most people who don’t drink much alcohol are usually light weights… meaning it doesn’t take much for them to get drunk. It doesn’t have anything to do with your liver not detoxing. Also if your liver isn’t detoxing properly then you are in the beginning stages of liver failure and need to go to the hospital.

    Ladies .. Please NEVER take vinegar by it self ! You must use one glass of water as it stated on the recipe. That acidity on an empty stomach might harm the stomach and cause ulcers.

    I tried the Costco brand and took it Back! It wasn’t as effective! I use 1T. Bragg’s to 2/3 cup hot water when I wake up with acid reflect. After sipping it I can go back to sleep! Probably should take it every night before bed!
